Seeds of Change

We have USDA Certified Organic seeds for all your favorite vegetables. And this year they come in resealable, recyclable, environment friendly packages.

In our continuing effort to bring you premium organic and sustainable products, we now offer our own American Plant Organic Potting Soil and American Plant Organic Planting Mix. We are proud to offer these two products that are peat free, locally produced and transported by a bio-diesel fueled truck. They contain not only compost, but also worm castings to increase soil biodiversity and improve your plant’s health. We have partnered with Organic Mechanics Soil Company to bring you these quality organic soil products.

American Plant has added two New Organic fertilizer products for lawn and gardens. Bradfield Organics has supplied us with: Luscious Lawn and Garden 3-1-5 organic fertilizer and Luscious Corn Gluten 9-0-0. Both of these products are packaged in a biodegradable bag.

  

Luscious Lawn and Garden 3-1-5 Fertilizer may be applied to lawns, tree, shrubs, vegetable, fruit, herb, flower, and rose gardens anytime soil temperature is 50 degrees or above.

A 40 lb bag will produce the same effect as 800 lbs of compost spread on a 2000 square foot area of lawn or garden without injuring plants when used as directed. Luscious lawn and Garden 3-1-5 with a root stimulant produces a lush lawn, while relieving heat stress and promoting winter hardiness. This convenient to spread, non-burning premium fertilizer will not leach into water (Bay friendly) and is OMRI Listed, safe for people and pets immediately after application.

Bradfield Organics Luscious Lawn Corn Gluten 9-0-0 is a slow-release (9% water in-soluble form of nitrogen) non-burning fertilizer, safe for people and pets immediately after application.

This 40lb bag covers 2000 square feet and the bag is biodegradable. This corn gluten product may be used in the Spring and Fall except within 60 days of lawn seeding.

Turf Care Program

STEP 1 - March / April

  • Apply Limestone
  • Apply Bradfield Organics Corn Gluten (if not seeding – if seeding go to Step 3)

STEP 2 – May – June

  • Apply Encap Iron Plus (Will help keep grass green in summer)

STEP 3 – late August / early September

  • Apply Bradfield Organics Luscious Lawn & Garden fertilizer
  • Apply grass seed
  • Cover lightly with Leafgro
  • Water lightly for 10-14 days

STEP 4 – late October / early November

  • Apply Bradfield Organics Corn Gluten
We do soil pH tests in-house for free (must bring a small coffee can worth of soil). Healthy plants need healthy soil, but be conservative with compost as a soil amendment. Compost will improve soil fertility, but it also holds a lot of water. Use no more than one-third compost to two-thirds soil. And if you have heavy clay with poor drainage use a mix of one-third particle matter (like pine bark fines, sand, or Perlite), one-third compost, and one-third soil.
